Yoga and Spinefulness with Laura

    80% of the American population will experience some form of low back pain in their lives. Back pain is an epidemic, but  only in some parts of the world. Inspired by the work of Noelle Perez-Christiaens, Iyengar yoga teacher Jean Couch left  her rigorous and often painful yoga practice 30 years ago to research healthy, pain free populations that have very low  incidence of back pain. She developed a set of guidelines for everyday posture and integrated her research into the way she teaches alignment. The result is a gentle, effective, non-medical way to reduce back and joint pain. I had the pleasure of working  as an apprentice to Mrs. Couch and learning her truly inspiring teaching techniques.
  • Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hours, Ashtanga Yoga Institute at Mount Madonna Center 2009
    This training incorporates all practices of yoga on a physical and spiritual level including philosophy, pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, and asanas (poses) all under the guidance of long time students of master yogi and monk Baba Hari Dass.
